TLC 3 Nights in Bangkok
Guys, here is the blog on bang-cock as promised..oooOOps ..its supposed to be
Bangkok (“BKK”). =) I know its taking way too long for me to put up this blog. Been busy running around ever since I came back from BKK. Now that I have a little time to spare, so here it goes:
Yeah, just some information for those who still a bit blur. Me, Jason, Jenny, Vincent, May Lee and Adrian went for a 4 days 3 nights trip down BKK. Well, as why its Tender Loving Care (“TLC”) outing, I need to provide some decent explanation. “T” stands for TAN May Lee & Adrian TAN, “L” stands for LIM Fong & Jason
LEE and last but not least, “C” stands for Jenny CHIN & Vincent CHIN. So you get the puzzles pieced and it’s the TLC outing to BKK.
Day 1
Started with Dim Sum for Me, Jason, Jenny and Vincent at SS2. The Tans are probably sleeping and resting. Then went back to Vincent’s house to wait for the Limo that sweet little May Lee help us to book. The Tan’s sat on one limo and the rest of us sat another one to KLIA. Its cheaper, less hassle and more comfortable than to board the ERL from KL Sentral.
We boarded Thai Sky Airlines @
4.15pm . Was quite shock to find that the Thai Sky airline serve food on the flight. Yes, we get a decent meal even though the flight was only 1 hour 40 minutes. Bonus point for Thai Sky considering the quite-cheap package we paid for it.
Touch down in
BKK Airport around
5.30pm (BKK time). BKK time is one hour slower. Somebody from the travel agent arrange for our airport transfer. So the TLC boarded the van and off we go to First Hotel. The day was so gloomy, it started to rain. Cursing by now, as the highway is full of traffic and The rain don’t really help either.
Check in to First Hotel. Right after that, the next assignment is to find food! Manage to negotiate with a taxi driver to send us for seafood nearby, to some XXX show and Thai massage. The taxi fare was considerably cheap, 200 Baht to send 6 of us (yes in one taxi) to all the above mentioned places, fro and back! Well, we really squeeze our ass to get in the taxi. Its unquestionably a worth squeeze!
Had seafood in Kuang Seafood. Own by a Chinese guy (from
China ) and the food was good and not to mention fairly priced. What we had?
a) Baked Crab with noodle glass
- This is one of the dishes that they say must try in
Thailand .
- Something different.
b) mix vegetable
c) tom yam seafood soup
- This is one of the dish that I enjoyed the most
- Spicy and the taste is just superb
d) Fried garner with garlic and pepper
- The best dish for the day
- Deep fried and top with garlic and pepper
- Highly recommended
e) Fried crab with curry
- One of the best dish
- Its not soak with curry. The curry looks almost dried up but definitely nice
f) Fresh Oyster
- OK, didn’t manage to tried this.
- But the guys ate quite a fair number of it and getting Hor** after that… hahahaha
After the seafood, we went to some dodgy place for some XXX show. We paid 600 Baht to get in. But all in all, we paid more than that due to the tips given. (I realize its quite common to tip in BKK). I think friendster might censor me if I reveal too much of a details on the performance. Maybe some insights. Things they use to perform with the ladies part (old-style blades, ping pong, glass-bottled coke, marker pen, cigarettes, straws and others). Think this is one of the things that you need to see to believe it. Well, at least the guys had a good experience. Hahahahha…somebody just had a hard time to get out from the toilet.
Okie we left the place after that when we realize that the “performers” were repeating the same act. Then we proceed to the traditional Thai massage. All of us been yearning for this! Definitely a MUST if you visit
Thailand . I think I should put it as, if you are a first-time visitors to
Thailand , Thai massage is not to be miss. We paid 600Baht + 100Baht (tips) per person for a 2-hour solid Thai massage (Bonus point as all 6 of us were in one room). Initially you need to take off your shoes, and the masseurs will wash your legs for you. Then proceed for the “action”. It was so relaxing that most of us felt asleep.
Went back to the hotel to ZZzzzZZZZZzz…
Day 2
Woke up at
7.30am for breakfast at the Hotel. All of us were so sleepy but excited at the same time. TLC decided to follow the tour guide to the half day tour. Started our journey at
8.30am . Went to 3 temples and Gems Gallery with the Tour. I can say that the temples are a nice place to take pictures with. As seen in these pics, I think the way they actually manage to bring out the essence of the temple is something I really salute. I did not manage to get the temple names.
After the City tour, we manage to ask the driver to drop us at the ever-famous “Four Face Buddha”. We went there to offer prayers. I would say that this place is quite interesting. The Buddha is position right in front of Burberry boutique and in front of a busy street.
Then we proceed to
MBK Shopping Centre. Went straight to the in
MBK . There were a variety of food serve there. This time around we had individual meals ranging from mango sticky rice, combination beef noodle, rice with pork knuckes (good-one), rice with crispy pork (highly recommended), kuay chap – rolled rice noodle soup, santan with sago, banana in santan, glass noodle with tom yam pork, lala and fried glass noodle in seafood (good-one). We were so full we can barely walk!
But the girls won’t forgo their shopping ..hahahhahahha…at least for me. Well, I think we bought a lot of things and proce there are considerably quite alright if you were to ask me. Bought some clothes and some souvenirs back.
We went back hotel to rest and came out for a head massage (ok head wash with head massage) and foot massage. And I think it only cost us 750Baht per couple for all these!
Then proceed to dinner. This time around, we manage to get back the same taxi driver to drive us! Well, same price (200Baht) for 6 persons and he send us to have our dinner and subsequently to a local club.
Well, we went to Suang Lum to take our dinner. Sorry guys, we were too hungry the other day I didn’t manage to take pictures. Moreover, we don’t even know what are the food is called cos they are all written in
Thai. What we do is that we just point to the picture what we wanted. Oh yah, something to note though. Most of the food centre (similarly in
MBK food court), uses the coupon system. I hate this. You need to buy the coupon to purchase food from the food seller. Sucks right……
After that we went to a club call the
Hollywood club. 500Baht for two drinks. Didn’t really had a wild night out here. There is some live concerts around (in Thai) and how you gonna dance to that? So we went back early to rest……
Day 3
OKie, everybody woke up late this time…. Were supposed to go down to the Floating Market…. But we actually got ready only by
12pm . Can’t make it for Floating Market (sob sob sob). So we went around the hotel to take a walk. Manage to walk quite far…
WE found one place where there were full of wholesaler for clothes… and we really bought a lot of clothing (at least for me). But the thing is, you can’t try the clothes on. But generally still alright. =)
Manage to buy some “not-so-decent-clothes” See the pics and you know what I mean. =)
Spend half a day shopping. Some funny sign board we realize in BKK. Look below…
What they mean? The pickpockets only work on Sunday??? Funny…hehehehhehe
We went back and try to extend our flight….but can’t make it. So we decided to go back to
MBK Shopping Centre!!!!…..to shop!!!… We were really shopping like crazy as if we were in a competition to see who buy the most things. We went separate ways to shop and when we meet back we can only look at each others paper bag and had a good laugh.
For the last night, we decided to have a “mild” night. And we play cards in
Adrian ’s room. Well, only the TLC knows what happened in the room. Hahahahahah..sHHhhhh…it shall always remain private and confidential. Even if you guys (outsiders) know what happen in the room, but you never get to see… hahahahahahah…. “TLC, promise is a promise, we can talk about it but nobody shall
SEE what actually happen” tsk tsk tsk
We went back to rest after there were numerous complaints from other rooms that we were a bit ….errrRRrrr….too noisy…. I think its more like those ppl are boring ppl. They got nobody to talk to, so they think we are too noisy… hahahhahah
Day 4
Well, last day in BKK. I manage to wake up at
7am (after the late night in Ad’s room). And I woke Vincent, Jenny and Jason up…. Hahhaha So that I get to play in the swimming pool! Ad n May Lee is just too sleepy to join us Our tour guide will pick us up supposedly at
9.30am to the airport, so no time to waste. We manage to take some pics and swim around in the pool. Then went back to the room and pack… So sad I have to leave so early…. Sob sob sob….
So after breakfast we proceed to the airport and off we are back….
I think its such a short trip. I wish I can stay longer.
Well from this trip manage to learn some Thai language
Greetings – Sawaddi
Thank You – Khop Khun (me n Vincent is fluent in this)
Yes – Chai
No – Mai / Plao
Understand – Khao Chai mai ( Vincent wants to Khao Lui..hahahha)
Slow down – Cha Cha (might be useful in Thai massage)
Hahahaha..okie some general conclusion I make from this Trip:
a) Respect the driver there. If you were to say Malaysians are aggressive drivers, you should look at how Thai ppl drive. I really respect them for their skills.
b)
Thailand is definitely a good place to have massage. (Those extra services are included..hheheh)
c) You can basically find pork-dishes everywhere in
Thailand .
d) Must go
Thailand for the food!
e) Okie. Be careful of those Tuk Tuk. The open-air concept taxi. See below. They might just cheat you (cos we got con when we were in
Thailand )
f) Buy clothes there if you want. Cheap without compromising on quality.
Cheers to Bangkok~ till my next blog
